# J1299: PAENIBACILLUS DC-8A MEDIUM


## Main sol. J1299

1. Mix components thoroughly and adjust pH to 9.0. Distribute the medium into culture vessels (e.g., 9.0 ml in Balch tubes), replace the gas phase with N2, seal with butyl rubber stoppers, and autoclave. After cooling, aseptically and anaerobically add per 900 ml the following solution (autoclaved under a N2 atmosphere): 

2.9	g	K2HPO4	
4.2	g	Urea	
2	g	Yeast extract	
0.01	g	CaCl2 x 2 H2O	
1	g	Na2CO3	
0.5	g	L-Cysteine HCl x H2O	
0.5	mg	Resazurin	
0.2	ml	**Mineral solution**	
900	ml	Distilled water	
100	ml	Xylose (w/v, 10%)

37.5	g	CaCl2 x 2 H2O	
0.312	g	FeSO4 x 7 H2O
